What best cheap miniature(except for car) that uses DC motor, and does not need much time to finish? It will be controlled in computer using parallel port(it will be programmed in C). It can be robot, but when I google for it, almost all are using arduino board.

My first thought was a vibrator, but if this is a school project you probably won't get away with that... how about a controllable speed fan? – Optimal Cynic Oct 20 '11 at 9:25

Huh? Best cheap miniature what? Finish what? What is this motor supposed to do? Do you realize PCs don't have parallel ports anymore? Why must whatever this is be controlled by a parallel port? – Olin Lathrop Oct 20 '11 at 12:39

Waterpump - control level on/off OR maintain fixed level for varying output flow.

Genuine flying thingy that's tethered by the wires. Cam cheat and be on an arm- so easy - or freeflight.

Battery screwdriver gives you motor and gearbox so you have powerful slow speed drive. Wrap a cord around a driver bit and you have a rotary to linear drive. MANY applications.

  • Curtain opener.

  • Blind opener.

  • Winch.

  • Water pourer (from jug).

  • Cross box loader :-)

  • ... !!!
