I have a brand-new STK600 board and it shipped with an ATmega2650. I'm puzzled, though, that this does not appear to be a device you can generate code for with AVR Studio 5? Is this a matter of knowing what's a compatible device or what?

I am able to select the correct device in the AVR Programming tool, and ID the chip, etc. How do I write code to program it using the IDE?

Is your IDE up to date? – Kellenjb Dec 25 '11 at 3:27
Please do not make tags like code and target – Kortuk Jun 26 '12 at 15:43
Have you tried AVR Studio 6? Isn't AVR studio 5 EOLed? – Connor Wolf Jun 26 '12 at 20:40
