I'd like to start prototyping circuits on breadboards. I want to look at the schematic diagrams, buy the parts, put the circuit on breadboard and test if it works.

I just want to do this as a practice so I can actually do that with some other, complex circuits I wish to design (just for fun).

Is there any source from where I can get such "beginner" circuits to practice which would include microcontroller ICs, power supply, and all sort of components that are used in real life circuits?

This question is too open ended to reasonably answer. Try making a small audio amplifier, maybe even including something that can drive a small speaker enough to be heard on the bench. However, there are many many things you could do. – Olin Lathrop Jan 2 '12 at 13:40

Many manufacturers make kitsets with a range of components, a breadboard and a book of circuits.

You probably don't have a Dick Smith or Jaycar store in Nagpur, but here are some examples of the sort of thing that will be available elsewhere. ebay may be a source of such things.

Jaycar in Australia do these - volume 1 , Volunme 2 and Volume 3

This brochure shows what kits are available

THEN there is PICAxe :-)

Avoid things things this simple
