Bit tinkerer, electron tweaker, photographer and artist living in New Mexico (formerly Colorado, Michigan, Florida).
Once upon a time, I designed a waveform generator for use in undergraduate physics labs. It made very good waveshapes on a scope even at 1MHz. Long before that, in high school, I designed and built a very specialized computer to execute Conway's "Game of Life" cellular automaton using TTL chips and a scope as display. This won a plaque in the Detroit Science Fair.
Today I'm interested in microwave and millimeter wave technology. Odd, that MICRO-waves are 10 to 100 times longer not 1000 times shorter than MILLIMETER-waves. Earthlings and their goofy languages [rolls all three eyes]. Anyway, I'd like to earn a Master's Degree in EE at a local college, if I can do that while working full time.
I earn most of my money in software work. My expertise there is mostly low-level with bits, pixels, opcodes, for image processing and science number-crunching. I am also teaching cats to do my work for me. Regrettably, this latter endeavor has been a total failure.
