I'm a fairly young kid on the block when it comes to electronics. Completed by Bachelors of Engineering Science Majoring in Information Communication Technology @ UTS, Sydney in 2009. It gave me a diverse range of skills in maths, programming, electronics and a little finance knowledge too.
Somehow my work has revolved more around IT and this is the field I currently work in. I've always had a keen interest in computers from the very first days of when my folks bought a Pentium 286.
I enjoy learning more about electronics and continue to build on my knowledge but I've found that to really learn and understand electronics, one of several things is required: A)Several years of work in the field B)A mentor C)A very strong desire to self-learn from published literature.
A large part of my knowledge comes from the latter. Whilst I had some level of formal training at uni there is always much more to learn!!!
I have an extremely strong embedded c programming background and am fluent in the programming of most microchip microcontrollers and basic protocols. Also some level of windows programming development.
Current Project: Building a quadracopter.
Contains: GPS, Wireless, accelerometers, gyro, pressure sensors, an embedded microcontroller, led lighting and now thanks to some help from this website some low voltage detection circuitry.
Most parts have been individually prototyped. Now I've got to tie it together get a PCB board made up, and write some neat firmware algorithms in an attempt to make it fly.
