Sep 30, 2011 at 23:41 comment added markrages Yes, noise is the disadvantage of a fan. If you're not going to draw lots of power from your supply most of the time, you could arrange a thermal switch to turn the fan on only when the heatsink heats up.
Sep 30, 2011 at 23:12 comment added Ashley Hughes I think I will look into switching power supplies, but then again it's is only for my bench top work. Adding a fan is one option that I thought of before but this would introduce a lot of noise would it not?
