Also, I don't think your criticism of the EzSBC is entirely justified. There are exactly 5 vias, all connected directly directly to the back-side ground pour. The pours on the component side are the input and output rails. The longest ground connection is the one for the input decoupling cap. The chip is placed high up on the board in order to get it into the best available airflow. All things considered, it isn't a bad layout. | |
