Aug 14, 2022 at 12:34 comment added SamGibson user233669 - Hi, You added an "answer" but it wasn't actually the answer to your original question. It was additional information, so it has been added to your question as an edit (i.e. an update) instead. Unless you are writing the full and final answer to your own question (i.e. unless you have solved the problem yourself and don't need further help) please don't use the box labeled "Your Answer" below. Instead please edit the question to add new information. (This is one way that Stack Exchange differs from forums. Please see the tour and help center for more rules.) Thanks.

Oct 13, 2019 at 10:39 comment added Nyos Does this device have a 2.4GHz remote controller? Or WiFi? Or anything with radios? Pin 4 of the damaged part is connected to a trace zigzagging along the long side of the PCB. That can be an antenna, which could identify the burnt part's purpose. (or it can be a sign that the trace's length matters - you can see similar traces on motherboards)

Oct 9, 2019 at 18:00 comment added Andrew Morton Are there any other devices on the PCB that look pretty much the same but with legible markings on?

Added "identification" tag. Made title more descriptive.
Oct 9, 2019 at 17:30 comment added Voltage Spike @user233669 what are the other markings on the blown out part, they are hard to see from the angle you have shown

Oct 9, 2019 at 17:08 comment added Ariser Welcome to EE.SE. Questions on repair of items are not very welcome here, because it is unlikely that question and answers will bring a lot of benefit for the community. Except if the question involves deeper considerations which cover engineering topics. Furthermore, most consumer electronics will be wrecked beyond repair upon inverted polarity of encapsulated batteries.
Oct 9, 2019 at 17:03 comment added Marcus Müller the part next to it looks damaged, too.
