Can someone please explain the necessity of impedance matching when designing thean antenna?

I am making aan antenna for my technical research. I am a grade 12 STEM strand. I don't have any background information regarding antennas. In exploring through google I gradually learned the basics.

I am working with this title "TWO STEERABLE DISC YAGI-UDA ANTENNAS ATTACHED WITH A DIPLEXER" itDIPLEXER." It is for 4G and 3G mobile network. Any tips?

I don't want to fail but I find it really hard to find all the necessary information in designing an antenna.

I plan to make two disc antennas, one for specific frequency band for 3G and one for specific frequency band for 4G and I will combine the two cables in a diplexer because diplexer works if low and high frequency is connected and can coexist in one port.
