I'm trying to configure an XBee with the X-CTU tool using Wine. I followed the steps given in this tutorial.
- I plug the USB in and check the kernel logs to see on which serial devices it has been attached:
userk@dopamine:~/Programs/Matlab/bin$ dmesg | grep 'FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached'
[474.287844] usb 3-4: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0
So the XBee is connected to /dev/ttyUSB0.
- Then I create the corresponding softlink with: (this might be the problem)
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 ~/.wine/dosdevices/com5
I open X-CTU Add the COM5 port and click the Test Query button but the following window appears:
I don't have any reset button on the explorer board I'm using to connect the Xbee to the PC. It's probably a mapping problem between the linux dev files and the wine com ports. This process works on Windows, but I prefer to use Ubuntu... Do you guys have any advice?
