We are doing an EMC test of a capacitance sensing touch panel, pursuant to immunity issues versus 28MHz noise. We do it in 2 methods:
- The operator is holding an antenna (which generates 28MHz noise) and simultaneously touching the panel to test sensing behavior.
- The operator is holding an antenna (which generates 28MHz noise) and another person touches the panel to test sensing behavior.
As a result, noise level monitored in method (1) is by far higher than in method (2) and it could not report relevant sensing behavior.
By what mechanism does the noise transfer from the antenna to the panel though the human body when the test operator is going to touch the panel? In general, should the operator hold the antenna during a test of sensing behavior?
