I bought a rfid rc522 and hooked it up with an arduino nano. The rc522 reader says it reads at a frequency of 13.56Mhz. The nfc ring is also at 13.56MHz but i can not get it working with it. The reader reads a card that came along with it so i know the reader is working. Any help?

NFC is a type of RFID, but not all RFID are the same, do not use the same encryption or communication style. That reader reads MIFARE cards. These are not standard NFC. It depends on the type of NFC card you got.
