# Astable multivibrator with capacitor on output

Can someone explain how does the capacitor on the collector of Q2 impact the output voltage from Q2's collector. I would like if someone could draw the signal output voltage in Q2's collector when Q2 is in saturation and when it is cut-off. Also, how does the additional capacitor impact the duration of the astable states. I understand that in this current configuration for the base of Q2 I have(R2 = 68k) : $$u_{b2}(t) \approx Vcc(1 - 2e^{\frac{-t}{R_2C_1}})$$ From which the time while Q1 is in saturation: $$t_1 \approx R_2C_1ln2$$ Can someone derive a similar formula for the duration of the other astable state.

• The simulation sight you got that image from has the ability to add scope displays with frequently and multi signal overlays. The first half of your question can be answered with your complete real time control. – Phil C Apr 25 '18 at 1:52
