I'm looking for a simple laboratory procedure (and required equipment) to measure the input capacitance of each IC I/O pin.

Thanks in advance.

  • \$\begingroup\$ What capacitance range do you expect to see? \$\endgroup\$ – W5VO Aug 24 '18 at 14:33
  • \$\begingroup\$ In the range of 2pF to 10pF. \$\endgroup\$ – Jorge Johanny Sáenz Noval Aug 24 '18 at 14:34

\$\begingroup\$ Why would you be concerned about output pin capacitance? \$\endgroup\$ – Transistor Aug 24 '18 at 16:13
  • \$\begingroup\$ Actually, I'm designing my own chip. The output capacitance is critical for ADC pins due settling time, among other examples. \$\endgroup\$ – Jorge Johanny Sáenz Noval Aug 24 '18 at 16:35
