I have an electric scooter that takes a 60v li-ion battery, can I connect 2 identical batteries together to get longer run time ?

  • \$\begingroup\$ Series or parallel connection? In series would be OK, but parallel would not. \$\endgroup\$ – Jack Creasey Feb 7 at 16:40

\$\begingroup\$ The reason you should not connect batteries in parallel is that you never have two batteries that are truly, exactly identical. When you connect them in parallel large, possibly dangerous, currents will flow between them. \$\endgroup\$ – Elliot Alderson Feb 7 at 17:42

\$\begingroup\$ Further to Jack's comment..."series would be OK"...agreed; however, this will double the output voltage of the total battery pack which may be a problem. \$\endgroup\$ – Tim D Feb 8 at 2:25
