I am needing to maintain a float charge on a 12v 150ah deep cycle FLA battery for long term storage. Is there a minimum amps required to keep a battery charged if it is at nearly 100% or at 100% charged? For example would a 1 amp charger be sufficient to maintain a 12v 150ah deep cycle? I am in doubt because deep cycle batteries having thicker plates which requires higher charge current usually 10% of ah (so 15 amps for this battery). I know that the current tapers to near zero in this stage but I do not know if this 15 amps is still required during float. An additional question, if at 50% charged, what is typically the bare minimum required to get a deep cycle FLA charging.
