I'm new on this forum, I'h planning to deploy a lights home automation and need some help about how to calculate the resistors and capacitors associated to a PcF817 optocoupler in order to get 5V at output when 220V is applied to a lamp through a switch. here it is a basic block diagram. enter image description here

here it is the circuit that I'm planning to use.

I'll appreciate and colaboration. Regarys.

  • \$\begingroup\$ thanks for your comment, but my idea is to learn how to calculate the components that are needed for the circuit. \$\endgroup\$ – jag Jun 13 at 2:23
  • \$\begingroup\$ Start with specs for output V,I vs input but learn by search by function and read like ZVS \$\endgroup\$ – Tony Stewart Sunnyskyguy EE75 Jun 13 at 3:20
  • \$\begingroup\$ thanks again for your suggestions, I will read about zero voltage switching. \$\endgroup\$ – jag Jun 13 at 4:39
