I'm working on a project in which I'd like to store about 10 "configuration" bytes somewhere in flash, as I'd like to have the same firmware run on different boards with different settings. It doesn't seem that hard to do the erase/write necessary. The worry I have is overwriting the rest of my firmware- how do I ensure this does not happen? How do I decide which sector to write to, to make sure there is not already data in it? Thanks a lot.
