I was wondering if I could have some help in how to determine the transfer function for a Proportional Pressure Regulator. (VEAB-L-26-D7-Q4-V1-1R1).

I have done a basic instrumentation and control course and I know how to derive the transfer function from a electrical circuit and from a step response, its just applying that to a physical system. However when I learned this, this was all been done in reference to seconds not to flow rate. I have attached the response and valve function diagrams.

From the plot if we were looking at the flow rate from 2-3, it would be a first order system but it was convoyed to me that it will be a second order system. Also when they refer to a step input, is this purely theoretical or can it be applied to an actual device and not in matlab. If so how do you apply this with physical equipment.

I hope you can point me in the right direction.
