New laptop charges off USB C. The official plug states output: "12v 2000ma"

I bought a 45w PD charger that states output:

"5.0v - 3.0A Or 9.0v - 3.0A Or 15.0v - 3.0A Or 20.0 - 2.25A"

Can I use the new charger without damaging the laptop battery? If no, why are all the 12v 2000ma batteries I find car cigarette chargers?
