I am trying to modify my Net Classes to be wider to run AC current through. (25mil). However, when I add a new class and then try to autoroute it doesn't use that new class. I get an error saying The autorouter job and current drawing are different and if you continue current drawing will be lost. Then an error saying that the Board and Schematic are not consistent. Additionally, it reverts the net classes back to the default net class settings, so the new class doesn't exist.

I have added the net class to the schematic, tried saving, saving and exiting the program, but I can't get the net class in the board to stick.

How can I get them to save?

  • \$\begingroup\$ Are you editing the schematic with the board file open? \$\endgroup\$ – vini_i Oct 29 '19 at 17:52
  • \$\begingroup\$ No. I haven't changed the schematic since I made the board. \$\endgroup\$ – Maggie Oct 30 '19 at 13:04
  • \$\begingroup\$ That may be your issue. Both the schematic and board files need to be open at the same time to keep them consistent. You can edit the schematic all you want until the board file exists. As soon as a board file exists then both files need to be open. \$\endgroup\$ – vini_i Oct 30 '19 at 15:23
  • \$\begingroup\$ What do you mean by open? I freely switch between them with the switch to schematic and switch to board. and I have one window with the schematic and one with the board open at all times. Still unable to get net classes to save. Additionally when I try to manually route it will not save my width preference. When i go to click it resets it to another width.. \$\endgroup\$ – Maggie Oct 30 '19 at 18:11
