I made two electronic circuits each consisting of a 555 Timer, a CD4017 and 7 leds in the shape of what you'd find on a dice. They work great and all, but I want to "compare" the results of both and indicate which output is higher by lighting a LED near the circuit which has more LEDs lit. I thought of dragging a wire from each anode of the leds and conjoining them and then using a comparator of currents?(if that exists), I need your help on this part. Any ideas?

  • \$\begingroup\$ Monitoring the current would be a smart way to do it but you have no current limiting on your LEDs so the current will vary to a great extent with the forward voltage of the LEDs and the supply voltage. You should fix that first. Tip: turn off the grid before taking a screen grab. It makes the text much easier to read. \$\endgroup\$ – Transistor Nov 5 at 18:09
  • \$\begingroup\$ Quickly skimming, you are using a 555 oscillator and a decade counter that "rolls fast" and allowing a PB and human timing to make the result random. Without worrying about how or if you constrain results, I think I see you using diode-or logic to turn on various LEDs to get the results you like. The LED drivers appear poor, to me. But that's for another time. Before I consider more, can you tell me what result constraints exist (is it 1-6?) and if you are somehow "wedded" to your LED driver circuit? \$\endgroup\$ – jonk Nov 5 at 21:46
