When an insect touches two of my wires the capacitance between them changes. This can be detected. Now after a change is detected i want to put high voltage on those two lines. I am afraid however that such a high voltage will kill the microcontroller sensing the insect. Is there a way to properly do this? I have considered using relais to cut the sensing wires after a detection, but those might die out too fast. Say I want to put 3kV on the line, can maybe a high isolation mosfet can do the trick? Are there cheap(er) options?

With kind regards.
