My configuration is as follows:
- RBW: 100 kHz
- Detector: MAXPEAK
- Frequency span: 1.1 GHz - 1.8 GHz
- Spectrum Analyzer: R&S FSV 30
I do not fully understand how the sweep time and number of points are related. If I increase the sweep time and keep the number of measurement points constant, does that mean that the time per measurement point increases (i.e. dwells), or that there are just more measurements being taken at the same point and then being averaged? My mission is to detect peaks of spurious signals with an unknown delta_t of ~ 30 ms with a fixed stepped scan.
And how does the number of points relate with the formula SWT = k * (span / RBW^2)?
