I'm selecting components for an embedded system that requires > 99.5 Mbits of memory with an access bit rate of > 2.99 Gbit/s.
I'm considering using a DIMM RAM module, which should solve both problems. Ideally, a small form-factor like Micro-DIMM or SODIMM.
There are several series options (DDR, DDR2, ...) to choose from. Additionally, several form-factors and pinouts. Which DDR version and form-factor should I choose to meet the following criteria:
- It meets my speed requirements
- The package is as small as possible (ideally SODIMM or Micro-DIMM)
- Inline module sockets for that package are still being produced
