This component is placed in the signal path next to a multi-band GSM antenna. It seems to have 3 terminals - 1x GND and 2x in signal path. I suspect it is some sort of bandpass filter, but can't locate the exact details anywhere.

[Edit] also added side view close-ups. Definitely looks like ceramic bandpass filter structure. But which one ?

Dimensions are 7mmx 11mmx 3mm

  • \$\begingroup\$ Any designators around, like X1, Y5, U4 etc? And can you put a bigger picture to show the surrounding components and overall PCB? \$\endgroup\$ Feb 15 at 8:32
  • \$\begingroup\$ No designators anywhere. What is shown IS the surrounding pcb. A coupling cap and an etched meander inductance is between this and the antenna bit. Impedance is mentioned as 50ohm in the associated document. \$\endgroup\$ Feb 15 at 9:10
  • \$\begingroup\$ Probably a SAW filter. BEF might even mean "band elimination filter". \$\endgroup\$

  • \$\begingroup\$ I've heard of Band Stop and Notch, but never Band Elimination filter !! Anyway - i took a real close-up of the sides as well, and looks like a ceramic band filter structure. Pics have been added. \$\endgroup\$ Feb 15 at 10:31
