That 1/2 digit typically shows only the values 0 or 1. The range of counts is typically ±1,999,999.  If less like 1,200,000, you wouldn't invent a new name, as it is not that significant compared to the integer number, like 7 1/2 digits their next series product.

The full range is 1 in 4 which when decimating is considered an extra half digit.  *We don't call it 6 1/5th digits or 6 1/4 digits which only confuses marketing people.*
