The result that I wrote in the very first edit explain the Vgs referred to ground. In fact, I was started with your equations, and then substituting the Vgs in terms of difference from the output voltage of the AO and the Vout, I have obtained the final result, near to unity. Thank you, I think that if you substitute the expression of Vgs in you equation, you will obtain the same result.
Jan 3, 2015 at 12:08 comment added iggy This is exactly what the equations above describe. Vgs is in fact not referenced to ground. My equation shows that the output voltage is dependent on the Gm, which is actually true. Yours show it is not, which is wrong. we are not including feedback yet, at least not for my equations.
Jan 3, 2015 at 11:57 comment added thexeno I made an edit, check it out! :) Your gain is not near unity, you seem that you have forgot that Vgs is not relative to ground. That's the ugly thing on this configuration.
