Jan 18, 2015 at 4:59 comment added Gil I just tested with the tool's battery that the charger is intended for - when I hook up the T connection it charges, and when I don't the switch kicks in. The battery is came with has 3 connections, + - and T. Any idea what I could I plug to the same terminal on the board to make it work ("To battery ground" in the diagram above)?

Jan 18, 2015 at 0:45 comment added Gil Do you think it would work if I just take it apart, and connect the low voltage end to Rectifier-->Diode-->Capacitor-->battery (and add resistors if the aperage goes up)?
Jan 18, 2015 at 0:39 comment added Russell McMahon Battery voltage should rise somewhat if charger working. Connection & operation of what appears to be a relay is not obvious.
Jan 18, 2015 at 0:26 comment added Gil Noted, I'll see if I can get it charged first. You believe once it's charged up this circuit will then work? I thought I should still be able to charge it now and would just take longer no?
Jan 18, 2015 at 0:23 comment added Optionparty Less than 2a is usually considered a "Trickle Charger". Start with the car battery charged, then it may help hold a charge over time.
