The newest breed, in development, uses ultrafast electro-optics on a chip to measure the distance from the sensor to the skin, the lateral movement of the sensor relative to the skin, and can steer the sensing spot on the skin and provide a depth gate to only capture the signal from a given layer of skin :) | |
