In Pic18F4550 microcontroller. I want to make a LED chasechaser from right to left in PIC18F4550 microcontroller. Here is a section of the code from a program which IamI am unable to understand. Section of code is follows:

LATB=1 less than less than i;
delay(); LATB=0x00; delay(); Que) How this work in chasing from right to left? Que) Why delay is required between them

LATB=1<<i;  
delay();
LATB=0x00;
delay();

can anyone explain me ?
