Apr 24, 2017 at 12:45 | comment | added | Marcus Müller | no, that's not the idea :) You modulate a 10 MHz carrier, and then mix it down by 9.5 MHz (10 MHz - 9.5 MHz = 500 kHz) to 8.4 (10 MHz-8.4 MHz = 1.6 MHz) to get the signal you want. It is a superhet, with the IF > RF :) You're absolutely on the right track. Whenever mixing, you get both the sum and the diff frequency, see my first formula :) | |

Then I use a variable oscillator that's 500khz to 1.5MHz odd below this high frequency and I transmit the difference frequency. Is that the general idea? | |
