And if you bring your ADA-approved sonic-technology toothbrush to work and stick it on your desk with its charger you get weird looks. So definitely a great question. (And if anyone has a pointer to a DIY automatic flossing device please share!)
May 16, 2016 at 23:03 comment added Steven Lu That's what I've done actually. Can't really recommend products but I have been using one that has an electromagnetic actuation system and the brush which just has magnets on it is replaceable. Granted this one has started to become flaky as well (awful end cap design) but that's another issue altogether.
May 16, 2016 at 9:59 comment added Dannie P why don't you get some sonic toothbrush with replaceable heads? I'm using these for several months now and pretty happy. Some of them come with pretty powerful vibration modes when you'd like extra cleaning power.

Apr 22, 2012 at 12:14 comment added Olin Lathrop Geesh, learn to use a normal toothbrush properly. They don't run out of batteries, overheat, need to be "overclocked", and work perfectly well with a tiny bit of effort. Overclock your elbow and wrist when using one. Maybe you'll even get some exercise.

Apr 22, 2012 at 7:29 comment added jippie Not sure if I understand correctly. Are you replacing a 1V5 cell with a 3V rechargeable battery?
Apr 22, 2012 at 4:47 comment added Jon L Why the term "overclocking" in the title? TLDR: How can I limit current going to a DC motor...
