Jul 31, 2012 at 15:20 comment added stevenvh @Toast - OK, neither am I, but I think you should reword the question. You actually say "unplug the potentiometers and put them on two Arduino pins", which apparently you don't want at all. I'll edit my answer.

Jul 31, 2012 at 15:18 comment added Toast I want to do something like press a button on my pc that makes the arduino send a signal to the controller to make the car steer to the left. So the arduino code has a variable like from 0 to 255 while 0 means left, 128 is center and 255 is right and it does a analogWrite to set the pin. And my question referred to what the circuit needs to be between the arduino pin and the remote control pin.
Jul 31, 2012 at 15:17 comment added stevenvh @drxzcl - " unplug the potentiometers and put them on two Arduino pins so the Arduino can control the remote control." That's what my answer gives a solution for. Again, if he means something else he simply has to say so, but IMO that's what he's asking. I can't read it in any other way.
Jul 31, 2012 at 15:12 comment added drxzcl To control the car, wouldn't you want to "write the potmeters" (assuming such a phrase makes sense) of the remote instead of reading them?
Jul 31, 2012 at 15:10 comment added stevenvh @drxzcl - In comment he says "The purpose would be something like controlling the rc car with the pc or phone." So I tell him how to get the potmeter readings to his PC. The rest is outside the scope of this site. I will hear it if he wants something else.
Jul 31, 2012 at 15:08 comment added drxzcl I thought the asker wanted to actually control the car through the arduino, not log the controls. Or am I misunderstanding your answer?
Jul 31, 2012 at 15:05 comment added stevenvh @drxzcl - I don't know. What's missing?
