Dec 8, 2012 at 20:31 comment added AndrejaKo Actually most newer connection methods work fine with hot-swapping or are modified to survive it. SATA is hot-swappable (but cheaper chipsets may not have driver support), FireWire is hot-swappable, HDMI is hot swappable, DisplayPort and so on.
