Feb 7, 2013 at 14:52 comment added ryantuck Chetan, why would I necessarily benefit from having a pre-amp in this circuit? Would that help eliminate the unwanted digital communications noise on the board better than the LM386?
Feb 6, 2013 at 23:20 comment added Chetan Bhargava LM358 is maybe what you need instead of LM386. LM386 is a power amp. You need a pre-amp.

Jan 7, 2013 at 18:30 comment added Passerby Do you have both GND pins connected to ground? The schematic cuts off on the AVCC, but I'm assuming that is connected to 5v as well. Double check that the second ground pin is connected.

Jan 7, 2013 at 16:48 comment added Michael Karas Do you have this thing built up with a solderless breadboard and a bunch of flying wires leading everywhere? If so you may need to look at an alternate construction style with GND planes and real PC board techniques in use.
Jan 7, 2013 at 16:34 comment added Passerby It would be nice to know how you have everything hooked up, breadboard or pcb? Modules or individually wired parts? Which arduino?
Jan 7, 2013 at 16:29 comment added Passerby @MattYoung The LM386 is a "Low Voltage Audio Power Amplifier", what exactly do you mean wrong part for the job?
