Nov 26, 2015 at 10:21 comment added yiipmann As far as my knowledge goes, when designing a PI controller for switching converters, it should be done in such a way that its (controller's) cross-over frequency should cover the self-resonant frequency of the circuit. That is why i said that the bandwidth of the controller should be higher than 0.5*pi*sqrt(LC) (which is the self resonant frequency of a simple LC filter, the one shown in fig(a)).

Nov 25, 2015 at 19:04 comment added user02222022 The LC resonant frequency is of little consequence for the buck converter since it is actively modulated and the controls adds poles/zeros to the overall transfer functions. Open-loop modeling as you have depicted it is not widely used.
