ADC Resolutionresolution impact with voltage divider

I have a sensor that output signalsoutputs a signal change between -4 to 4v4 V. I

I want to use a bipolar ADC with a 3.3Voltage3 V reference,. I know that I must be using someshould use a voltage divider, but what is the impact on resolution? I will use 12Bita 12-bit ADC (though even that 8 bitbits will be enough). Op amp

Will an op-amp with 0.5v5 V/vV gain will do the job ? or Or maybe a voltage divider with resistors?
