May refer to conductive traces of an integrated circuit, exposed as metal contacts, or pins, which are large by comparison and make physical connection to other components feasible. Freescale MCP8260, don't understand pins

You specify which clocks are used for TX and RX in the CPM Multiplexing logic (Chapter 16 in the databook).
