Also if we put the minimum Holding Current (50 mA) through the gate (which we shouldn't because that is the absolute max allowed) would the triac (or SRC) turn even if the load is small?
So in a triac that is switching AC, the current will fall below this minimum current twice every cycle. At which point we have the option of turning the trial on or off by closing or opening the gate?
Thanks. I must be misunderstanding. I thought SSRs were built with triac. The Sharp datasheet describes it as a "Solid State Relay (SSR) ... and a main output Triac".
