I’d question if you need the opto coupler at all but the encoder datasheet is sparse on the voltage and current rating of the phototransistor. Saying you can’t add parts is probably not the best strategy - you’ve started with a poor design and you ‘might’ be able to tweak the values but if push comes to shove you’ll have to change the design and add/change parts. It wasn’t a major issue years ago to do this. | |
