past few weeks I've been building my tesla coil And I wanted to use a 3kv 30mah neon sign transformer but the problem is the length of the arc is not enough for my taste,because of that I wanted to use a marx generator to get higher voltage and huge amount of discharge voltage on its output

So the question is,can I use a marx generator for a tesla coil,if can do I need a spark gap to resonate the primary of my tesla coil ?BTW I need guidance I'm not a veteran on electronics.thank you☺
