Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor, a type of field-effect transistor (FET). MOSFETs have an insulated gate, the voltage of which determines the conductivity of the device. This can be used for amplifying or switching electronic signals. (From: Wikipedia)

Understading p_MOSFET driver

During turn off, gate is charged to V1 through R3. The resulting gate voltage is V1, so \$V_{GS} = 0\$ During turn on gate is discharged through R2. The resulting gate voltage is V1 / 2, so \$V_{GS} …

Is it okay to use a MOSFET in its resistive region with a heat sink?

Unfortunately modern power MOSFETs fail when operated in the linear region at high power dissipations. MOSFETs are safe to use in the linear mode as long as the drain current decreases with increasin …

Calculating drain current with series N-channel MOSFETs

\$V_{gs}(M5) = V_{gs}(M6)-V_{ds}(M6)\$ If \$M6\$ is in saturation, \$V_{ds}(M6) > V_{gs}(M6)\$. So what mode are \$M6\$ and \$M5\$ in?

Peak power pulse in parallel MOSFETs

The driver has a fall time of 2ms driving 600pF to 10 volts, a charge of 6 nC. You've attached 8 MOSFETs with a worst-case gate charge of 273nC each, for a total of 2.2 μC. So you can expect it to tak …

Power supply circuit concerns

About the resistors R3 and R6, is it correct to pull up a MOSFET gate for such operations? Should I pull it down instead? Or remove the resistors? …

Biasing circuit with mosfet: am I missing information or misreading it?

If Vds of M1 is 1.4V and Vgs of M2 is 2.4V, how can Vb be 5V? Vdd is not needed because I1 is an ideal current source.

Current limiting a dc-powered heating element

If you’re regulating current and not voltage you don’t need a large input or output capacitor. Basically, do solution #1 but add an inductor and diode (you may also need a snubber).
