Yes, 4 different 32 bit data sources. 8 bits is hard to work with because it means I have to squeeze in control bits plus an immediate address argument for the instruction into only 8 bits, severely limiting my address space (Im trying to stick with fixed size instructions) I realize that its going to be cumbersome in hardware which is why I'm asking the question, although Im starting to think more about just using a simulator.
My question I guess is: I know I can buy ICs for 1 bit 4 way muxes, and I know how to construct a 32 bit wide mux out of 32 of those, but is there a more compact way (or a prebuilt IC that already does this) than just combining 32 muxes?
