How to achieve analog zero-drift sample and hold for hours?
Get a motorized potentiometer. To sample use an opamp to drive the difference to zero, to hold don't move it. Accuracy will probably be pretty low, but hey no drift.

Calculating drain current with series N-channel MOSFETs
\$V_{gs}(M5) = V_{gs}(M6)-V_{ds}(M6)\$
If \$M6\$ is in saturation, \$V_{ds}(M6) > V_{gs}(M6)\$.
So what mode are \$M6\$ and \$M5\$ in?

How to keep decompensated op amp in linear region?
The second one probably would have worked if Q1 was instead a MOSFET. Both introduce substantial nonlinearity near the threshold. Here's an alternative.
Something like this:

Biasing circuit with mosfet: am I missing information or misreading it?
If Vds of M1 is 1.4V and Vgs of M2 is 2.4V, how can Vb be 5V?
Vdd is not needed because I1 is an ideal current source.

Cable based data transmission without common ground
Coaxial cable is two conductors sharing the same axis (hence 'coaxial'):
The shield carries the return current. If one or both ends has a transformer it need not be at ground.
Traditional telegra …
